GAMEON is a 32-month initiative involving six partner organizations. The partners offer different areas of expertise, including autism research, software design, artificial intelligence, and autism advocacy. The project aims to improve the social communication, executive functions, and daily living skills of young autistic people through digital play. Key outputs include a methodology handbook, an innovative "blended" digital game, and specialized training for caregivers.
Serious games are digital applications designed for education, training, or social impact rather than pure entertainment. They combine engaging gameplay with structured learning or problem-solving objectives. Widely used in industry and corporate training, they have also proven effective for teaching social and cognitive skills to autistic individuals.
